PISTONS ROOKIES IMPRESS IN DEBUT

The Detroit Pistons outlast the Portland Trailblazers, 81-78, behind solid debuts from rookies Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren in the Las Vegas Summer League.


Ivey, who was picked fifth overall if this recent draft, led the pistons with a team-high 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.


The 6'4 guard out of Purdue showed off his speed, range, playmaking ability, and court vision in his debut.


Detroit's other lottery pick, Jalen Duren, finished the game with 9 points and 2 blocks in just 11 minutes of action.

The bigman from Memphis had three dunks to start the game including a thunderous slam off an alley hoop pass from Ivey in the first possession of the game.


Portland's top pick Shaedon Sharpe played in only five minutes and scored two points.


Sophomore guard Keon Johnson led the Blazers with a game-high 21 points.
